Zinc Picolinate

Fifteen milligrams of elemental zinc as picolinate, in one small capsule. Fifteen is close to the daily reference intake and well under the tolerable upper limit of forty, which matters more with zinc than with most minerals: sustained high doses interfere with copper absorption, and the resulting copper deficiency is a real and slow-moving problem. That is also why we have not added copper to the capsule. At 15 mg you do not need it, and a fixed zinc-copper ratio is a guess about your diet that we are not in a position to make. If you are taking zinc at a high dose for a long period on someone’s advice, that is the situation where copper belongs, and it belongs at a dose that person chooses. One capsule a day, with food; on an empty stomach zinc causes nausea in a fair number of people. Third-party tested for identity, potency and heavy metals.
