Collagen Peptides

Ten grams of hydrolysed bovine collagen peptides per scoop, with 50 mg of vitamin C alongside, because vitamin C is a required cofactor for the body making its own collagen and is cheap enough that leaving it out would be mean rather than principled. Ten grams is at the low end of what trials have used and the high end of what dissolves cleanly in a normal cup of coffee. On what it does: the evidence for joint comfort and skin elasticity over eight to twelve weeks exists and is moderate, funded largely by the ingredient suppliers, and the mechanism is not the intuitive one — eaten collagen is broken into amino acids like any other protein, and does not travel to a knee as collagen. Take it because the trials show what they show, not because the story is neat. Unflavoured dissolves clear and tastes of almost nothing. Vanilla and Cocoa are for milk and for oats respectively.
