Ashwagandha KSM-66

Six hundred milligrams of KSM-66, a root-only ashwagandha extract standardised to five per cent withanolides. The extract is named on the label because with a botanical the extract is the product: the trials that people cite for ashwagandha were run on specific standardised extracts, and a bottle that says only "ashwagandha root powder" is not the thing those trials tested. Root-only matters too, since leaf material carries a different withanolide profile and is cheaper to source. The evidence here is thinner than for the minerals in this shop and mostly concerns self-reported stress scores over eight to twelve weeks; it is suggestive, not settled, and we would rather say so. Two capsules a day with food. Do not take it if you are pregnant. It can interact with thyroid medication and with sedatives, so check first if you take either. Third-party tested for identity, potency and heavy metals.
