200 mg elemental magnesium, fully chelated, two capsules
Two hundred milligrams of elemental magnesium, bound to glycine, in two capsules. The number that matters on a magnesium label is the elemental figure and it is the one most labels bury: a bottle advertising 1000 mg of magnesium glycinate is advertising the weight of the whole compound, of which the magnesium is roughly a seventh. Ours says 200 mg because that is the magnesium. Glycinate is here because oxide is cheap, poorly absorbed and reliably loosens the bowel, which is why the cheap bottles work as laxatives and not much else. Two capsules in the evening, with or without food. Magnesium is genuinely useful if you are short of it and does very little if you are not; the common signs of being short are cramp and poor sleep, neither of them specific.
